Doug was Ring President in 1983, wrote a column called Doug's Digs for the Glass Wand, was a founder of the magic shows we used to do at Marty's house for the Old west End Festival, was a fine performer and was also Conclave Chairman.

Douglas W. Kuenzel

Douglas W. Douglas W. Kuenzel, age 60, of Toledo passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, September 4, 2006, at Lake Park Comfort Care after a short illness. He was born September 6, 1945, to Lois (Benore) and Elmer Kuenzel. Douglas attended Ladyfield Elementary, St. Francis De Sales High School, Miami University, and the University of Toledo. He began his career in social work at the Children Services Board of Toledo and later worked in sales. Douglas retired in 2005 and enjoyed spending time with his four grandchildren and renewing his interest in his favorite hobbies, collecting movies and magic. For many years, Douglas was an active member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians. Douglas was preceded in death by his parents and his faithful dog, Shelby. He is survived by his two daughters, Adrienne D. (Jerry) Stirn of Sylvania and Darcy (Thomas) Rose of Toledo; grandchildren, Brandon, Bridgette, Anthony and Elizabeth; uncle, Gerald Benore; several cousins, many dear friends and the gang at Rumors. Friends may visit the family on Thursday from 2-9 p.m. at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave.. where services will be held 10 a.m. Friday. Interment will follow at Calvary cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Toledo Area Humane Society. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the nurses at Flower ICU for their wonderful care and support of Douglas and his family during this difficult time as well as the staff at Lake Park Comfort Care.
